Bylaws

Article I. Name and Purpose
  1. The name of the organization is the Society for Mathematical Psychology

  2. The purpose of the Society is to promote the advancement and communication of research in mathematical psychology and allied disciplines. Mathematical psychology is here broadly conceived to include, in particular, work of a theoretical character employing mathematical methods, formal logic, or computer simulation.
Article II. Membership
  1. The Society shall have two classes of membership: members and student members. (a) Applications for regular membership are subject to approval by the Executive Committee. The applicant must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent experience and be sponsored by a member who indicates that the applicant is engaged in pursuits related to mathematical psychology and is interested in participating in the activities of the Society. (b) A graduate student in any field may be admitted to student membership upon sponsorship by a member and may continue to so long as he or she is a student in good standing in any graduate school.
Article III. Executive Committee
  1. The Executive Committee shall exercise general supervision over the affairs of the Society, subject to provisions of Article IX.

  3. The Executive Committee shall elect its own Chairman from its own members. The term of Chairman shall be one year and he may be re-elected so long as he is a member of the Committee.
